The Evening's Lodgings are simply recommendations. I plan to stay at some of these and camp out for other evenings. You are free to find rooms there or elsewhere, or you may camp at any of the campgrounds available on the east side of the Sierra, or even spend the night in your car off any of dozens of dirt roads in the area.
